Abstract:

Hip fractures are a major public health concern among elderly individuals, often leading to prolonged immobility, functional decline, and increased mortality rates. These fractures impose significant physical, psychological, and economic burdens on patients, caregivers, and healthcare systems Postoperative care play a critical role in determining recovery outcomes, and early mobilization protocol had emerged as a promising intervention to mitigate adverse effects. early mobilization involves initiating physical activity within 24-48 hours post-surgery, aiming to prevent complications such as deep vein thrombosis (DVT) pressure ulcers, muscle atrophy, and pneumonia, while also promoting faster recovery and improved quality of life
the study investigates the impact of early mobilization protocols on recovery metrics such as functionals` independence, pain management hospital stay duration and complication rates in elderly patients undergoing hip fracture surgery As the primary investigator I personally implemented early mobilization protocols for an intervention group and compared their outcomes with a control group receiving standard postoperative care The study was conducted over a 12-month period in a tertiary care hospital, where I directly supervised and monitored patient progress, collected data, and analyzed results
The finding demonstrate that early mobilization significantly improves recovery outcomes. Patients in the early mobilization groups exhibited shorter hospital stays higher functional independence scores lower complication rates and enhanced pain management compared to the control group. Additionally patient satisfaction rates were markedly higher in the early mobilization group underscoring the holistic benefits of this approach these result highlight the importance of integrating early mobilization into standard postoperative care for elderly patients recovering from hip fracture surgery by reducing hospitalization durations, enhancing functional recovery and minimizing complications early mobilization protocols offer a cost effective and patient-centered solution to improve recovery outcomes
